What is The Psych Canvas?

Who We Are

The Psych Canvas is a warm, inclusive online psychology practice offering individual therapy for adults across Australia. We’re passionate about making mental health support more accessible — not just in terms of location, but in how therapy fits into people’s real lives. Whether you're reaching out for the first time or returning to therapy, we meet you where you are, with empathy and evidence-based care.

Our Approach

At The Psych Canvas, we believe that mental health support should be accessible — not limited by geography, time zones, or traditional office hours. Our fully online practice offers flexible, after-hours therapy sessions, including Saturdays, so you can access support when it suits your life.

Whether you’re based in a city or a remote part of Australia, therapy is just a click away. All you need is a phone or webcam and a quiet space. From the comfort of your own home, you can begin to explore, heal, and grow at your own pace.

We offer individual therapy that’s tailored to each person. Our work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporates creative approaches where appropriate — especially helpful for younger clients or those who benefit from more expressive ways of working.

The Psych Canvas isn’t just about treatment — it’s about empowerment, autonomy, and meaningful connection. We hold space for your experiences, honour your goals, and support you in finding clarity and resilience. Whatever you're facing, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Our practice areas

See below for the treatment practice areas that we have experience in with individuals across the lifespan.

Depression is a common mental health condition that affects how you think, feel, and function. It can involve persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities, low energy, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep or appetite, and feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness. Depression can range from mild to severe, and it often interferes with daily life. At The Psych Canvas, we provide evidence-based online therapy to help you understand what’s maintaining your depression and develop strategies to manage symptoms, improve your mood, and regain a sense of balance and purpose.

Anxiety is a common mental health issue that involves excessive worry, fear, or nervousness that can be difficult to control. It may cause physical symptoms like restlessness, muscle tension, rapid heartbeat, or trouble sleeping, and it often interferes with work, relationships, and daily life. At The Psych Canvas, we provide evidence-based online therapy to help you understand the sources of your anxiety and develop practical tools to reduce symptoms, manage stress, and regain a sense of calm and control.

Grief is a natural response to loss—whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of a life you had hoped for but never got to live. This might include things like infertility, the absence of a meaningful relationship, or other unfulfilled dreams. Grief can bring sadness, anger, guilt, or numbness, and may affect sleep, energy, and concentration. At The Psych Canvas, we provide online therapy to help you navigate the grieving process—honoring your unique experience, making sense of painful emotions, and supporting you in finding meaning and healing.

The way we connect with others is shaped by early experiences and attachment patterns, which can impact how we form and maintain relationships in adulthood. You might find yourself struggling with trust, fear of abandonment, difficulty with intimacy, or repeating unhealthy patterns. These issues can affect romantic relationships, friendships, and even work dynamics. At The Psych Canvas, we offer online therapy to help you understand your attachment style, explore past relationship dynamics, and build healthier, more secure connections moving forward.

Chronic stress and burnout can leave you feeling emotionally drained, detached, and overwhelmed. Whether it’s due to work pressure, caregiving responsibilities, or ongoing life demands, prolonged stress affects both mental and physical health—impacting sleep, mood, focus, and overall well-being. At The Psych Canvas, we offer online therapy to help you identify the sources of stress, set healthy boundaries, and develop sustainable strategies to restore balance, energy, and a sense of control in your life.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects focus, impulse control, and organisation. It can show up as difficulty starting or completing tasks, forgetfulness, restlessness, or feeling mentally scattered. While often diagnosed in childhood, many adults live with undiagnosed ADHD and struggle in various life areas. At The Psych Canvas, we provide online therapy to help you better understand how ADHD impacts your life and develop practical tools for managing symptoms, improving executive functioning, and building on your strengths.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) involves unwanted, repetitive thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) performed to reduce anxiety. These cycles can be time-consuming and interfere with daily life, causing distress and frustration. At The Psych Canvas, we offer online therapy to help you understand your OCD, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and develop effective strategies to manage symptoms and regain control.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that affects social communication, behavior, and sensory processing. People with autism may experience challenges with social interactions, routines, and sensory sensitivities, but also have unique strengths and perspectives. At The Psych Canvas, we offer online therapy tailored to support autistic individuals in building skills, managing challenges, and enhancing wellbeing in ways that honor their individuality.
